Next friday, the second sun total eclipse of the millenium will take place. This event will not be visible from any point of Spain.
The Shelios expedition will travel to Siberia (Novosibirsk, Russia).
The expedition will leave next July 27th from Spain (Canary Island /Madrid) to Moscow. It will go all over the Transiberian route up to Novosibirsk. After 12 days they will come back to Spain the 7th of August.

The most interesting part will be the live broadcasting of the eclipse comented by Miquel Serra-Ricart. The expedition will send digital video signal via satellite to the Ciclope group (Facultad de Informática, UPM) . The Madrid Visualization and Supercomputing Center (CeSViMa) will serve the streaming over Internet.
You can attend the event using the browser or a dedicated player with streaming capabilities. If you prefer the browser option you need a Windows Media Player or VLC plugins. To use the streaming option you must open our HTTP or MMS streams with a player that supports them.
We test our streams using the free VLC player with the appropiate browser plugin.
